Many of our current library books on science are outdated or are not visually appealing. Students are more likely to investigate an attractive collection on their own and as a librarian, my favorite thing is to see students browsing a section of books, curious to learn more about a new interest. Shiny new covers, coupled with up-to-date information, will give provide our students with the best materials to spark students interest and encourage them to investigate the topic beyond what the teacher has assigned. Although we don't expect every student to want to pursue an academic career after high school, we do want to provide an atmosphere of learning, no matter what their life goals are.
