Students will be able to sit with their 5 gallon buckets between their knees, placed upside down with drumsticks in hand to bucket drum in class and at home. Bucket drums are a great introduction to rhythm and percussion. Students as young as 6-years-old can start learning notation and basic beats. I plan to use bucket drumming to teach rhythmic notation, aural skills, and cooperation amongst other concepts. I've come to learn that drumming is truly a full body experience because every part of the body is involved and because of this students develop gross and fine motor coordination.
