Some students struggle in school, which may end up meaning a referral for a special education evaluation. You see, that is where I come into the picture. Sure I do plenty of consultation with school staff and parents alike, but the crux of my role is that is direct assessment and support of at-risk students. By the time students enter my realm, school is often a place of angst but that can all change during one positive experience in my office where their spirit can realize a positive boost! Sure, special education evaluations are not all fun and games though. That is why brain breaks are so critical to obtaining valid results. Please fund the use of technology as an engaging way to motivate students to keep working hard in the face of adversity!
