The flexible library seating will allow my students to focus on standard RL.1.10, where they will read books and learn the absolute enjoyment of reading. The labels and paper will also promote these standards as we print stories for the students to read and learn foundational skills from. The ink will be used to print ELA centers to differentiate learning and enrich student learning of L1.4 and L1.5. The CD player will be used using for Standard SS.1.14. which states: "Discuss the importance of culturally, racially, and ethnically diverse people in building a strong and equitable community." Showing the students how people from other countries are similar to the people in America as we are to them. The math manipulatives will hit a variety of standards including 1.OA.A.1, where students add and subtract to 20. The students will use these centers to build their learning of these topics and to learn both by themselves and with their peers. All of these items will promote positive collaboration amongst my students and will help them to learn and grow together as a class.
