Getting students excited about reading is always at the forefront of what I do, but once I get them reading I need to keep their interest, and graphic novels are an amazing tool to do just that! This group of students has experienced COVID since their 6th-grade year and that has made reading a physical book a strange experience for many of them. I want to reignite the feeling of flipping open a book and tangibly letting it impact you the way I know it can. This book, in particular, is a true story that inspires everyone to push through difficult circumstances especially when they are out of your control, hold on to hope, to know we all have a great purpose, and we all can find joy in our lives whilst letting go of bitterness. I believe this powerful message is much needed for my students and I can't wait to share that together with the help of this book and you. Thank you!
