These resources will greatly aide in my work with young children. In early childhood settings, the classroom is structured in thematic centers so that children may choose projects of their own interest to engage with for extended periods of time. I carefully selected each of these materials to further enhance the learning and explorations already occurring in my classroom daily. My children all have varying degrees of autism, and therefore require specialized materials to meet their needs. We will use the items from this project to help our children meet their sensorial needs, make things adaptable based on their developmental level, and scaffold their learning. From my experience, providing a young child with choice and a wide variety of high-quality materials leads to intrinsically motivated learners. It is my goal as an educator to cultivate the next generation of thinkers, innovators, creators, and explorers. "The first 5 years have so much to do with how the next 80 turn out," and providing children with a quality early childhood educational experience is the first step to growing the leaders of tomorrow.
