Our special needs students often require positive reinforcement and engaging activities to maintain their attention. The game room provides them with a safe space to learn and develop their academic skills in a fun and engaging setting. The room will help them target their social language goals including turn taking and reciprocal conversation, learn and apply functional math skills through money identification, and target fine motor goals through sensory play and building. The games, toys and resources will support my students academic learning by providing real life experiences, generalizing their learned skills and laying the foundation for science, technology, engineering and math. The activities have all be carefully chosen to be both highly motivating for the children and also educationally based.
