All students want to be heard and understood. My students are severely delayed in their speech sound productions that sometimes their own family members have difficulty understanding them. In class, they are limited by their speech sound productions to share ideas, thoughts, and respond to others' comments appropriately. When students have to stay home to quarantine, they can still receive speech therapy through teletherapy so that disruption to their speech sound acquisition is minimal. Our current device is inefficient to host Zoom, which is the platform we are required to use.
