COVID-19 dramatically hindered my student's ability to access quality literature with story manipulatives. My student's are back in school ready learn and expand their vocabulary with the help of story manipulatives and engaging picture books. I want to help them develop their communication skills through using literature. (SL.2.4)Engaging literature opens my students eyes to answering more complex questions and engaging in conversation with their peers. My student's require frequent sensory breaks to give them time to process what is being taught and what is going on in their environment. Using books paired with story pieces that my student's can touch bring the stories alive for them.
