Everything I am asking for has a perfect place in the classroom in areas of need. Being a first year teacher I am building a successful and engaging classroom that all students can feel a part of. Adding library books to our class library gives students exposure to different genres of books and encourages a love for reading by supplying books of interest. Supplies such as pencil holders, glue sticks, a pencil sharpener, flip chart, folders, whiteboards, and erasers give every student access to materials that will allow them to complete projects, work through interventions, collaborate and complete their assignments. These things get used regularly and can also be used across content areas throughout the year. In our classroom, I have set up flexible seating to offer students a choice in what they believe is best for their learning style. The lap desk tops would add to the collection of flexible seating options and my students would LOVE to have another choice. With colder weather upon our area, I would love to provide students educational games to play when we have indoor recess due to inclement weather rather than turning on a movie etc because these would build a sense of classroom community and encourage positive social interactions amongst peers. By donating to our project, each of these items will not only support students learning but provide them the tools to obtain state standards and reach their learning goals. Providing students with differentiated learning strategies and using a wide range of tools to achieve this, is only the beginning of a life long learning journey and with your support we could be one step closer to celebrating our academic goals!
