The amount of small group instruction is vital in my second grade class. We have not had "normal" school in a few years. Whole group instruction is not for every scholar. While we are working in smaller groups, the others students would benefit from the headphones, to cut noise level and focus their attention to their devices. Instructing to the collective group, then reteaching in a smaller setting, allows me to formally and informally assess the needs of my second graders. This time can ensure that I meet the needs of each child will giving them an opportunity to connect with me and their peers. The math manipulatives and books will help keep them busy in lab time. They can be circulated in in center time and used throughout the years. We do not have a library on campus so having literature on hand is vital to increase reading.
