My third graders will be doing several research papers this year in order to learn about and share their knowledge about several non-fiction topics. This will be done in our classroom only. Writing non-fiction is our SLG (student learning goal) this year so these projects will be used to track growth and adjust instruction. My students LOVE non-fiction topics and have a passion for learning as much as they can about topics of their choice. Unfortunately, we don't have enough resources to support 29 students working on these types of projects so these book sets will help improve that. Our school just lost 2 teachers, so we will be increasing in size from 23 to 29 students.
