I have been a professional photographer about 6 years before I found my complementary career being a NYC educator about 5 years ago. When the opportunity to combine both passions manifested I was truly excited. I’ve been teaching the concepts of photography for the past 2 years for 3-5 graders. Being an elementary school teacher in a Title 1 school means my students will probably not be able to experience the complex process of photography. It is amazing to see what a boost of confidence and social awareness that comes along with students pursuing photography as well. My students have an understanding of some of the photography concepts and take an abundance of photos I’m asking for your help to allow them to have a device used for editing because our Chromebooks are not compatible with our photography software. Please help us promote creativity and self-expression within our students by learning a new skill.
