My students comprehend and retain text better when using visuals. Many of my students love to read graphic novels and manga. They grasp the context of the story better and have more vivid conversations about the text. These graphic novels will help bring the vivid language of Shakespeare alive be more accessible to my students. With these novels helping with comprehension, I look forward to the deeper conversations we can have while learning about Romeo and Juliet. These interactions will benefit the students on an emotional and social aspect as they interact with each other and dive into the themes within the text.
