I plan to use these supplies to distribute to my students for use both in class and virtually at home in case of school closure. Each student will receive their own personal supplies to complete projects to demonstrate basic understanding of the characters in the novels we are reading, symbolisms, character quotes, etc. The drawings are to be detailed, colorful and show creativity. The students I work with are culturally diverse and many come from low income families that can’t afford art supplies. Another project that requires art supplies is agamographs of authors using optical and kinetic art. In transition classes students create a dream board that reveals activities they and their families participate in together. On the other side of the poster board, they are to create a visual representation of their personal goals for their future, things where they want to improve, barriers for their success, ways they are unique, values, etc. It’s a way of helping them record through art information about themselves visually.
