Students are excited to learn and participate in hands-on activities they missed out on last year due to distance learning. Through art, students are not only empowered to be creative but they are constantly problem-solving. However, it is challenging to have all students engage in projects and expose them to different media with limited art supplies. Having a variety of art supplies for students will facilitate students’ exploration of different media and ways to represent art while being creative. Students will engage in meaningful projects demonstrating their creative skills. Standards that will apply in art production are P.1 Demonstrate planning for production, P.14 Create a work of art showing the influence of a particular historical period or culture, and H. 5 Discuss social impact of art on culture. Students will apply the standard through art critique: C.1 Describe works of art using appropriate vocabulary and C. 5 Share/evaluate own artwork.
