My students in News Crew need quality equipment to help them with their video announcements. News Crew is an after-school program that I run. Students volunteer to be in the program, but they must show good character and be good examples for the rest of the building to keep their spot. As a group, students research what to include, write the script, and record the school's announcements. This group has shown amazing potential so far, but they need better quality equipment to help their potential soar. Right now, they are using a very low-quality tablet to record the weekly news. It gets the job done, but even the students realize that it is not the quality they deserve. I would like to get them a better quality tablet for video recording, a tripod to help keep the shot level/steady, and a microphone so they can be heard well enough even through their masks. I know my students would be extremely appreciative of the new equipment. I also know that this is a program that they love. Former students always ask about News Crew and want their siblings/cousins/etc to be involved as well.
