Our students have been confined to their homes for over a year, much of the time in extreme weather which was not conducive to playing outdoors. I will be hosting whole-school basketball open gyms. Students will be invited to come participate in healthful training exercises. Middle schoolers will be instructed how to use the strength training and cardio equipment as well taught basketball strategies. They will work in partners, small groups, and teams to practice and play basketball. This is directly related to NVACS for Physical Education 3.12.3 (Demonstrate opportunities at school for regular participation in physical activities) and 3.12.1 (Engage in a variety of moderate to vigorous physical activities).
