The materials I am requesting are designed to increase student engagement in the classroom by providing hands-on games and activities. In kindergarten, we place a strong emphasis on building strong foundational skills in reading and math, and we promote activities to increase oracy skills as foundations to writing. These finger puppets not only build oral retelling skills, but they also encourage imaginative play while kindergartners engage with vocabulary and their speaking and listening skills. The cvc word building games will help target phonics skills and will help these young learners to become better readers and writers and foster a love for learning and school. I strongly believe that young children need more than worksheets to help them learn. They require activities that allow them to manipulate ideas and apply what they learn in a playful, exciting way. Multisensory approaches strengthen neural pathways and make learning "stick."
