These books will continue to enhance the mentor texts and print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My read aloud time is a time students really enjoy! Every mentor text book is placed in the front of our room for students to look at throughout the week. Books are treated with care and help develop social emotional awareness for students. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few weeks of school and know types of stories students enjoy and areas to target for individual growth. With these new books, my students will be able to hear about kids with similar interests and struggles to support social and emotional growth. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. Using these stories as read alouds and giving students the opportunities to engage with the text independently if they choose.
