When students are able to talk and draw or paint their feelings of anxiety or depression, it can make it much easier to get through the day. Additionally, they will have a conversation piece to refer to and share with family when they feel the anxiety or depression returning. It also serves as a positive memory that when we work through feelings, things can get better. Teachers notice when students are in distress, they are not receiving the optimal learning in the classroom, and I believe art can help. Thank you for considering !
