My students will use these books in our leveled reading group and classroom library. Students love reading non-fiction books and our selection is very limited. These new books will let my students pick books they can read independently. The books I chose will help students with their reading comprehension and vocabulary. We use whiteboards daily within math and reading to formative assess students abilities. ELA 3.1.2: I can ask and answer questions before, during and after reading a text. RL 3.1 ELA 3.1.3: I can use strategies to determine the meaning of words and phrases in a text. RL 3.4
