My students need a laptop charging cart. This year Covid has really impacted how our students access school and items in the classroom. Normally we share computers with two other teachers but this year we were able to get enough for our classroom to have their own. Unfortunately we did not get a cart to keep them charged. Right now we have them on a shelf with multiple power cords and power strips keeping them working. This is really difficult for students to manage and our district, due to Covid, requires that students not touch each other's supplies. When kids are trying to figure out which cord is theirs and get computers from a stack, this is nearly impossible. We use our computers throughout the day and they are integral to my lessons. My lessons follow the Nevada Content Standards in all subject areas but the kids love learning on Dreambox, a computer program that focuses on the NVACS for math in all grade level content areas. The students are able to work at their own level which is especially important for students who are behind due to the disruptions of Covid exclusions and distance learning. If we had a laptop cart we would be able to charge our computers and students would know exactly whose cord is whose. We wouldn't have cords all over the place and we wouldn't have to worry about germs being shared. Thank you for considering my project.
