My kids love listening to stories after lunch recess. Our campus is old and our classroom have cold, laminate tile on the floor. I hope to create a cozy area where students can sit comfortably while listening to stories or doing partner work. Since returning to school in August, we’ve tried sitting on the floor but it’s cold and uncomfortable. Students end up returning to their seats at their desks. Of course then they can’t easily see illustrations and this disrupts the intimate feel of a read aloud. I want to create a space where students can learn to truly love to read books!
