These iPads requested will provide my students with access to explore technology in a supervised manner in my classroom. They will allow access to apps that align with our curriculum for math, reading, and science, supporting critical standards like ELA 1.RF.4 (reading with fluency to support comprehension) and Math 1.NBT.2 (understand place value). The addition of these iPads to my classroom will support growth on essential first grade standards and allow me to create a new learning center for students to work independently on district-approved math, reading, and science apps. According to Dell, 80% of jobs that will exist in 2050 do not exist today. Students in this year's class and many future classes will be using these iPads to learn skills that will help them in their future endeavors as productive community members and technologically savvy leaders.
