My 3rd graders have limited access to computers at school. These four laptops will allow them to have some practice in the classroom to then carry those technical skills and the ease of repeated practice into their homes. My struggling readers will have access to curriculum-based websites to strengthen their literacy and writing skills. My high achieving students can be challenged by researching and building presentations online to present to the class. Let's make technology time meaningful for my 3rd graders! Nevada Academic Content Standards addressed by using technology to support reading and writing are NVACS W 3.6, 3.7, and 3.8. Our young learners are living in a world surrounded by technology. By teaching them safe and responsible usage of technology, my goal is that they will do less surfing at home and more academic-based learning to enrich their young minds. I will provide my students with specific websites and texts differentiated to meet their needs to enjoy throughout the school day. These same websites can be used at home to further engage students in their learning. So, whether my students are researching inventors, exploring different genres, or developing their multiplication and division skills, these laptops will assist them as they continue to build a love for learning.
