Students will be learning how to roll clay slabs with rolling pins, cut shapes to create clay containers, connect clay shapes with slip, print textural patterns and glaze their clay after it has been fired in the kiln. The printing tools will offer a variety of options for unique, creative clay creations! Kinesthetic art projects offer a memorable experience for our art students. Written and auditory instructions will be presented as an integral component of our clay projects. The students will have a functional piece of ceramic that will last a lifetime. This ceramic project aligns with the Nevada Academic Content Standards. As an example, students will apply knowledge of available resources, tools, and technologies to investigate personal ideas through the art-making process. They will create personally satisfying artwork using a variety of materials and processes.
