My students will learn about working together as a team, by building our classroom garden. The big gardening boxes, will be great. They can learn how to put soil in, dig holes for seeds and how to plant seeds togther. This is also why I added different tools for gardening, so they can each have their own or share. A place that they can learn to plant and grow flowers, as well as go to calm down and learn yoga (this is why I added yoga mats). They will have musical instruments, to help them learn how to express themselves and their emotions. There are instruments for inside and outside the classroom. I will be intregating art into the garden as well, using paintable stepping stones and birdhouse. As well as balancing stones, to work on their gross motor skills. Learning to be a team through gardening, is a fun way to learn. There are so many things that they can learn through gardening. I can also tie the garden into future learning like our butterfly unit. I am excited to have this area for my students, to learn and grow. I also added social emotional games, for days when we are not able to work in the garden.
