A Scholastic News magazine subscription will help to promote reading in a variety of ways. The materials will be used as a resource to help teach reading in the classroom. These magazines will be taken home, so this can engage parents and families and promote reading outside of school. These magazines also align with the Kansas Next Generation Science Standards and the Kansas 1st Grade Social Studies Standards. I will be able to use the magazines once a week to teach science and social studies through reading in the classroom.
