In a traditional brick & mortar transitional kindergarten classroom, the classroom itself acts as an additional teacher where the environment is set up for students to interact with intentionally planned activities that promote artistic, musical, and imaginary self-expression, language development, logic, reasoning, and scientific inquiry. In a virtual classroom, students at home do not have the same resources a classroom would have. In the virtual classroom, teachers may not have access to the same quantity or quality of resources the local school may have. It is my job to think about and use learning materials differently. I seek to secure developmentally appropriate learning games that I can use to engage and interact with the students, assuring they learn what they need to, to be ready for the next grade level.
