My students came to me as reluctant readers. Each of them having their own stories as to why reading just was not fun for them. I have dedicated myself to learning about their interests and aspirations, in hopes of guiding them towards having, at the very least, an appreciation for reading. Their engagement with reading skyrocketed once they were introduced to graphic novels! Now, they are leading their own book discussions. They are asking questions, sharing connections, and respectfully challenging each other. These are all skills and qualities that will make them effective future leaders! Help me give my students the Amulet book series, earbuds, and class timer.

About my class
