TIME for Kids will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. Students will connect with the world around them through current events. They will also practice speaking skills by reporting out to their peers as News Anchors. Students are our future and we need to prepare them to be aware of the world they live in. The best way I know how to do that in the classroom is by exposing them to as many nonfiction texts that are high-interest which is exactly what TIME for Kids offers. To help students become lifelong readers is to read more, and TIME for Kids will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
