"We build futures" is part of our district's vision. We know the importance of teaching our students to be successful both inside the classroom and outside the classroom. The pandemic has caused trauma for everyone. Our goal is to teach students to spread kindness and generosity throughout our classroom, building, and into our community. We will read "Seedfolks" which is a novel about how a garden brought individuals with very diverse backgrounds together. We will address a few science and engineering by design standards, but our main focus will be on kindness and working together to create something bigger than any one individual could create alone. We have been lucky enough to have obtained some raised garden beds but are in need of some tools to get us started. A storage shed would be great for keeping our tools in good condition and protected from the elements.
