This is my first year of teaching 4th grade and they don't know what a microscope is. They have not seen one. Through this project, I will be able to introduce to them the other side of "curiosity", to question, to make hypotheses, to make experiments, and to build projects. My students are smart but are only offered with limited resources. Within two months, I have spent already most of my paycheck on classroom materials and I have my family to feed too. I even brought of my home furniture to my classroom. If students are given the opportunity to have these materials, it will enhance their critical thinking skills. Ultimately, they'll learn to persevere and find solutions in real-life problems when they get out from my classroom!
