Some students struggle emotionally in school and at times need to see the social worker(me). It helps when they have a warm inviting space to calm down in and have the resources to help deescalate their emotions. When the student is able to cope with stress, anxiety, depression, anger etc., they are able to increase their attention and focus. Social emotional health directly affects a students ability to learn. A safe place at school is a bonus for the students, especially for students who don't have a safe place at home.

About my class
