The exciting technology of UAS (unmanned aircraft systems) is in its early stages! The field is growing by leaps and bounds and some uses include: aerial photography, agriculture, search and rescue, construction management as well as delivery and fulfillment. Students in our school's drone club will experience the ability to use UAS technology and associated programs to enhance their STEM skills and broaden future employment opportunities. Students will learn how to safely operate drones, practice 3D manipulation, photogrammetry, and other programs used with drone technology. Additionally, students will learn the federal regulations pertaining to UAS operation. When students have completed VTMS UAS club's curriculum they will be prepared to take the Part 107 test to become a licensed UAS pilot at age 16.
