Many of my students are still figuring out how to be their best selves in music class. This past year of fully remote learning made it so that many of them are not used to being in a very structured school environment anymore. These resources will go to developing a quiet space in my classroom where my students can go to regulate their feelings and emotions. This helps them to stay in the music classroom, as well as feel safe in my classroom. Some of the materials will be used strictly for the quiet corner, and some will be able to be used in more classroom activities. For example, the pool noodles will help students to stay socially distanced while still getting the opportunity to participate in group games and songs. My hope is that with these resources my students can rebuild their classroom community, and feel safe in my classroom.
