This will be a semester-long project covering numerous content standards in economics. Students will be able to read about and later discuss modern and relevant examples of economics in action. Students will be able to make "real world" connections between the Nevada state standards and concepts in economics. In general, students are curious about personal finances, taxation and revenue of the local, state, and national government, how to establish a budget, the market economy, and labor markets. The book "Freakonomics" goes beyond the basic concepts to illustrate how economics can be applied to a variety of settings.
