These materials will help my students learn how to regulate and process emotions in the moment while teaching them tools to use in the classroom and beyond. I will be building a calm, safe space for students to take mindful breaks and use sensory materials to ease into difficult conversations. Students will be able to request time in this room but will also be brought here by me to talk through issues, conduct group interventions and maintain therapeutic relationships throughout the school year. Now more than ever, students need emotional education as much as academic and this space will provide that foundation. I am excited to be providing the opportunity to make students successful and refocus the value on mental health in our day to day lives.
