When children are dealing with emotions and feelings and are not sure why they behave the way they do, utilizing a developmentally appropriate approach through guidance in the classroom can combat unwanted behaviors. In my experience with children, when they hear stories in books that reflect their feeling and thoughts it can begin the student's acceptance, allow them to begin to take ownership of their actions, and start to make better choices with their behavior. The books I have selected will be used for the classroom during storytime on the rug.
