As a kindergarten teacher, I have the unique to opportunity to set the foundation for my kindergartener’s learning. I hope to create a classroom environment where all students feel safe and excited to come to school. To help kids get excited to learn, I strive to plan activities that are student centered, engaging and hands on to meet the individual needs of each child. One of the most important parts of my job is teaching my kindergarteners to read, and to grow their love for reading. During Reader’s Workshop, students work in literacy stations while I work with small groups of students. With a new listening center, my students can read along with many of their favorite books. Listening centers provide ample opportunities for students to turn the pages of the books, point to the text as it is read to them, build reading fluency and so much more. Thank you so much for helping my students grow into confident little readers.
