Kindergartners grow so much throughout the year. My goal is to best support all students through various means and methods, including technology. Utilizing technology in the classroom can cause for more student engagement, more knowledge retention, and more individualized learning. I have a very diverse group of kindergarteners, and many of these students have no access to internet or technology at home. The products that I have chosen for this project include tablets and headphones that students will be able to use in class. My goal is to provide these students access to tablets in the classroom, so they can utilize our school district learning programs like DreamBox Math and Learning A-Z. Not only do these learning programs align with the Common Core State Standards, but they personalize instruction from intervention through enrichment. This will help to strategically increase the learning velocity of my entire class--struggling students, advanced students, and on-level students. Additionally, these learning programs adapt to the individual learner through continuous formative assessment, which helps tp provide the right next lesson at the right time. These phonics and math based learning programs can also be utilized to fill the learning gaps created as a result of the pandemic.
