I am passionate about flexible seating for a few reasons. First, flexible seating provides access for students who need sensory, movement, or space to focus while listening to others or completing an activity. Second, flex seating brings joy to students while reading, writing, counting, and playing which deepens their love for school and learning. Last, flexible seating options provides many teachable moments about sharing, reflection, choice making, and collaboration. When these opportunities arise students stop to reflect on their learning habits and what is best for themselves and proceed with making choices that will aid in their learning leading to future success. Please help our classroom get some flexible seating!
