My class meets in person. If we were to go back to virtual learning, I could prepare these manipulatives for individual students to take home and learn together from home. The use of manipulatives for math allows us to explore, count in groups, and discover the power of grouping in 2, 5, 10! Students will question and wonder about patterns in math. They will be making sense of problems using manipulatives to solve and also validate their theories about math. Using manipulatives will expand to geometry in observing how different two-dimensional shapes can build 3-D shapes and more.
