Students learn best through play. We sometimes forget that when we think of older students. Since coming back to in-person learning after 18 months of remote learning, I see learning through play for my students as being even more important. According the Common Core State Standards, most of my students are showing below grade level math abilities. The games I am hoping to purchase for my classroom will help build basic math fluency, develop strategic thinking, and strengthen my students' overall math understanding. Best of all, they will be able to use math in every day activities with the games! I plan to have students use these games as a bi-weekly game day and for early finishers. If there is interest, I will open it up as an after school club for any of the 1000+ students at Nelsen!
