Students learn in so many different ways and I want to be able to support them in their learning. Some kids like to stand, some like to sit at lower tables, some love to curl up in a bean bag, and some love to stretch out on the floor. Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make choices that work best for them. After being out of school for over a year because of COVID, I feel it's necessary to give the students some control as they ease back into the school environment. I want to create an environment where all my students can be comfortable and successful! The items I have selected will create a more inviting environment by giving my students additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The high-top tables will allow students to stand and move about when they are tired of sitting. The comfy pillows and bean bags will allow for more comfortable seating options for students who like to stretch out while doing their work. I already have a couple of flexible seating options in my classroom and I have seen how having choice can positively affect my students and create more student engagement.
