These classic titles that I am requesting will help with having deeper discussions in reading. I remember looking at a previous student’s Facebook page and seeing that his favorite books were the ones we read as a class ( My Brother Sam is Dead and The Skin I’m In). I was so touched and feel it is important now more than ever to create learning experiences for children to remember The trend I see across reading curricula that they tend to use articles, excerpts and short stories. I enjoy using chapter books as an extension of the curriculum and to build motivation to read independently.
