The books will enhance the learning in our classroom by having in depth conversations of compassion. Each novel has the main character struggling and how other characters assist them with their struggles. All the books were chosen to have students be able to make connections with how they treat others and how they are treated. Students are engaged while we read these books and it is important for each student to have their own copy in class. My students have shown a surprising interest in reading this year and this project will enrich their reading.
