I teach junior high title 1 English in a rural school, which is the only school in the district and teaches grades k-8. The county I teach in is one of the poorest counties in the state. My students are struggling with the mechanics of reading and lack motivation to improve. My 8th graders are heading off to the high school were they will no longer receive interventions. I want to motivate them to improve their skills to be successful in their future educational careers. This is my first-year teaching and I lack the ability to create a classroom. Help these students get books into their hands that will give them the motivation and confidence they need to succeed in the future.
