Although many of my items are directly related to reading, writing, math, and science learning standards. My overall focus for this project is to help my students with their social emotional learning. This year, more than ever before, I am seeing kids struggling with their social emotional skills. I want to provide ways for them to calm themselves, problem-solve, and practice social skills with their peers. It is my hope that I can help create students that are independent, confident, and are able to prevent their emotional struggles from getting in the way of their learning. I know they have what it takes to handle it all! Health 1.1.4 List ways to express emotions in a positive, safe manner. Health 1.1.6 Identify ways to promote personal and family health at home. Reading Foundational Skills: RF.1.1 - 1.4, word recognition, syllables, fluency, decoding, vocabulary, and more. Math 1.OA - recognize numbers 1-120, add and subtract within 20, and more. Also, they will practice fine motor skills, and feel safe and comfortable in a welcoming classroom environment.
